Dried Tofu or Dried Bean Curd

I just bought a bag of dried tofu or bean curd.

The stuff is dirt cheep and I paid $1.50 for a 6 ounce bag of the stuff.

That will serve 2 or 3 people when it is cooked up.

You can soak it it water for 15 minutes or boil it in water for 5 minutes and it reverts to the old soft bean curd or tofu.

Since bean curd or tofu is so bland and boring when you eat it I have been boiling it with bullion cubes, soy sauce and chilli to give it some flavor.

I mix a few strips of the dried bean curd or dried tofu with some rice and cook it up like I normally cook my rice.

My fiends wife throws the sticks of dried bean curd or tofu into a crock pot and cooks then with her normal crock pot stuff.

I suspect the dried bean curd or dried tofu would also be good for hikers or campers.

It is very light weight, cheep in addition to being nutritious.

And best of all all you have to do is boil the stuff for 5 minutes to cook it up.
